During our annual Founders Association dinner last night, Rob Goldstein, our chief executive officer read the following quote:
“Giving is not just about making a donation; it is about making a difference.”
Our Founders Association members, individuals who have made major gifts to the Menorah Manor Foundation, epitomize that quote. They are people who have stepped up to the plate, not only with their donations, but also with their leadership of our organization. They are true partners in our mission of providing the best possible care, in a warm, homelike, Jewish environment.
Each year, our existing Founders Association members come together for a lovely evening of friendship (and gourmet food, prepared by our very talented dietary staff!) and fellowship. New Founders Association members are honored, and are given a beautiful crystal menorah as a small token of appreciation for their generosity and partnership.
Two new Founders Association members were honored last night – Nancy and Alan Bomstein and Gerald Klein. Their comments were poignant, and perfectly expressed the warm feeling in the room. Alan Bomstein said that when he looks at the Jewish landscape in this region, Menorah Manor is such a vital thread in the fabric of Jewish life. Gerald Klein said that Menorah Manor has been so important to his family, and since “tzedakah” was taught to him from an early age, it was important for him to give back.
Thank you to our Founders Association members for your generosity and for making a difference in the lives of our residents - those who can no longer care for themselves.
